HANDCRAFTED WHITE OAK BASKETS
The Day Basket Difference For ALMOST 150 YEARS, the Day Basket Factory has made baskets only one way -- the time honored way developed by basket craftsmen over many years. We have resisted the temptation to cut costs by cutting corners. We use only white oak in our baskets because it has always been considered the premium basket making material for strength and durability. We also strip our material to follow the grain of the wood rather than using machine made veneer as many of today's basket manufacturers do. We use solid brass nails and solid copper rivets for corrosion resistance. Perhaps the most important difference is our people. We instill in them the importance of quality rather than quantity. The result is a basket that will stand the test of time with the heaviest use. We proudly craft baskets for the historic and heritage community including: ·Adkins Arboretum, Ridgely, MD ·Architect of the Capitol, Washington DC ·CBS Productions, Austin, TX ·Colonial Williamsburg Foundation, Williamsburg, VA ·Friends for Long Island Heritage- Old Bethpage Village, Bethpage, NY ·Friends of the U.S. National Arboretum, Washington DC ·Historic Hudson Valley, Tarreytown, NY ·Metropolitan Museum, New York, NY ·Mt.
